2026 Canadian National Tournament
The Canadian federation paired up with the Alberta Team Handball Federation to put on the 2026 Canadian National tournament this year in Edmonton. This year, Manitoba sent a team for the first time since 2018. The senior women's program was unable to clinch a win but showed a lot of energy and fight proving they can compete at the national level.

This year purple took on orange at Dakota Collegiate with all of the high school league's best talent. Both the boys and girls games showcased high level competition and we're so looking forward to seeing who makes the transition to the adult league this fall!

An interesting double match-up of VMC and FRC for both the girls and boys divisions with Vincent Massey taking home both championships making this the girls' third year in a row!

Tube Sharks have taken another men's division championship making this their repeat win but 4th overall. Fury unseated Voltage as this year's championships, also their 4th title overall.
February - Heritage
This year Manitoba sent a senior women's and junior men's teams to compete in the annual Heritage Classic in Regina, SK.
The women's team was in close competition to the Saskatchewan women's team first beating them by 1 goal in round robin but then lost by 1 in the semis and ended up earning 3rd place. The tournament was a great learning experience for the junior men as this was their first times competing together.
October 2025 Wrap-Up
October is always an exciting month for handball in Manitoba with the WTHL starting up and this year it started with a clinic and scramble tournament that went very well!
The clinic drew some Manitobans who have never played before and over a dozen international students many from German but also a few from Spain and Italy.

An undefeated Shaftesbury squad unseated last year's champions to claim the title in an exciting win over the Fort Richmond Centurions. #17 Quinn Parker buried 10 goals while #11 Dean Saunders added 7 in the 32-26 match. League top scorer #12 Jayden Spence of FRC scored 9 and #13 David Kentebe added 7 but were unable to overcome the cohesive flow of Shaftesbury's offence.
Dean Saunders was named WHSTHL MVP with 66 recorded goals in 6 games.

Vincent Massey Collegiate held onto their Championship title for the second year in a row last night against the Fort Richmond Centurions. #16 Sina Streit and #4 Lilly Vande Graaf put up 9 goals each to put the team up 23-18.
Fort Richmond's Bethany Eagles (#14) scored 9 as well and #10 Marley Floreal added 6 to the fight but came up short.
Sina Streit was awarded the WHSTHL MVP with 47 goals scored in 5 regular season games.

The short High School League season is coming to an end as the teams battle out single-elimination quarter and semi finals this week with the finals and all-star games coming up June 3rd and 5th. Will the VMC Girls and FRC Boys teams see a second championship in a row? Or will the titles go to someone new?
Finals are at 6:00 and 7:30 at Dakota Collegiate

Our senior men's and women's teams headed out to Edmonton for the Western Cup over April 3-7. Despite short rosters, both teams came out with some wins and the men's team even landed 5th out of an impressive 9 teams! Congrats to all who participated.

Big congrats to the WTHL's 2024/25 Season winners Voltage (women's), who defeated Y&R and Tube Sharks (men's) who defeated Tropics for their hard-fought battles to take home the trophies!
