The Manitoba Team Handball Federation is committed to promoting and developing the sport of team handball at all levels within the province of Manitoba. Our mission is to foster a culture of excellence, inclusion, and sportsmanship, while providing opportunities for athletes, coaches, and officials to grow and succeed. Through community engagement, education, and competition, we aim to inspire individuals to reach their full potential and to elevate team handball as a premier sport in Manitoba.
The Manitoba Team Handball Federation is proud to be part of a tight-knit and longstanding community that has been passionate about the sport for many years. Rooted in a history of dedication and camaraderie, our federation brings together athletes, coaches, and volunteers who share a deep commitment to the growth and success of team handball in the province. This close community spirit not only strengthens the sport but also creates lasting bonds that extend beyond the court, fostering a supportive environment where individuals can thrive and contribute to the rich legacy of handball in Manitoba.
The Manitoba Team Handball Federation has a proud history of success, having once been a larger, more dominant force in Canadian team handball, with a reputation for strong organization and exceptional athletic performance. While we acknowledge that our presence has faced challenges in recent years, we are now at a pivotal turning point. With renewed energy, strategic focus, and a commitment to growth, we are revitalizing our programs, fostering new talent, and rebuilding the foundation necessary to once again elevate Manitoba team handball to new heights. Our federation is poised for a bright future, with a clear vision of rekindling our past achievements and forging a path of progress and unity for generations to come.
Our main location for team handball in Winnipeg is Red River Polytechnic which is located on the lands of Anishinaabe, Ininiwak, Anishininew, Dakota, and Dené, and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. We recognize and honour Treaty 3 Territory Shoal Lake 40 First Nation, the source of Winnipeg’s clean drinking water. In addition, we acknowledge Treaty Territories which provide us with access to electricity we use in both our personal and professional lives. We respect the Treaties that were made on these territories, and we dedicate ourselves to move forward in partnership with Indigenous communities in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.
